City & Guilds Training Course
This course aims to reflect the national occupational standard for a high risk related confined space environment. It covers both water and non-water industry areas.
Water
This may include working with potable water, sewage treatment processes, drain and sewer cleaning operations or where the operative is working in or near water or where a confined space is subject to surface water flooding.
Non-water
This may include pharmaceutical, petrochemical, asbestos removal, vehicle manufacture and servicing, aeronautical, construction, communications, power, utilities, gas, electrical and mechanical engineering and some elements of work operations in mines, quarries and tunnelling.
Please be aware that the safe working load (SWL) of equipment used during the practical session of this course is 136KG. If a delegate who wishes to attend is above this weight, please contact us prior, to check if additional provisions can be made for your chosen course.

Assessment
- Practical observation - side entry and top entry no deeper than 3 metres
- Undertaking dynamic risk assessments throughout the exercise to identify hazards

- Short answer question paper
City & Guilds courses are delivered by HSS Training at City & Guilds accredited centers.
Delegates successfully completing the course will be issued with a Certification by City & Guilds after 28 days, which is valid for 3 years.
Due to the Internal Quality Assurance process, as stipulated by City and Guilds, which much be conducted for the paperwork on all courses, certification for this qualification can take up to 3 months at our busiest times.
